Composites Universal Group Begins Initial NADCAP Certification Audit Process

Jul 25, 2025 | Uncategorized

Composites Universal Group is proud to announce that we have officially entered the first phase of the NADCAP (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program) certification audit. This milestone represents a significant step in our commitment to delivering the highest standards of quality, consistency, and compliance in advanced composite manufacturing.

NADCAP (National Aerospace and Defense Contractors Accreditation Program) is an internationally recognized cooperative accreditation program administered by the Performance Review Institute (PRI). It is designed to ensure that suppliers to the aerospace, defense, and related industries meet the most rigorous quality and process control standards.

Achieving NADCAP accreditation is a major milestone that reflects an organization’s dedication to excellence, continuous improvement, and strict adherence to industry specifications. The process involves multiple audits and evaluations across critical manufacturing processes, including composite fabrication, nondestructive testing (NDT), heat treating, chemical processing, and more—depending on the scope of services offered.

“Beginning the NADCAP certification process is a strategic step forward for Composites Universal Group,” said Steve Ruege, President & CEO at CUG. “It demonstrates our commitment to meeting the highest standards demanded by the aerospace and defense industries, while also solidifying our position as a trusted, world-class supplier of composite parts and assemblies.”

The first stage of the audit process includes comprehensive internal assessments, documentation standardization, process validations, employee training, and readiness reviews. CUG is currently working closely with PRI auditors and industry consultants to ensure that all special processes and quality systems are aligned with NADCAP requirements.

Why This Matters:

  • Enhanced Quality Assurance: NADCAP certification ensures greater consistency and reliability in special processes.
  • Preferred Supplier Status: Many Tier 1 aerospace and defense OEMs require or strongly prefer NADCAP-accredited suppliers.
  • Competitive Advantage: Certification strengthens CUG’s ability to serve both existing and new clients in highly regulated markets.

With customers ranging from aerospace OEMs to defense contractors and advanced mobility innovators, Composites Universal Group is committed to delivering cutting-edge composite solutions built on precision, repeatability, and compliance.

As the company advances through the multi-step audit and approval process, updates will be shared with customers and partners to reflect progress toward achieving this prestigious certification.
